LB# 14 Maximizing the Use of the Overhead Projector and the Chalkboard

In this topic maximizing the use of overhead projector and chalkboard it is the use for the new technology for this generation, as what we know during our time when we are in elementary and high school we are using the blackboard in every classroom for our materials. But because of our new technology some of the school are using television, a computer in presenting their lessons. It help so much to our new learner by using computers, TV's and other technology that can be use in the classroom. And this Overhead Projector seems more available in schools and it has a lot of advantages. So now, we already know and learned the technology we should maximize using the chalkboard.

LB # 13 Teaching with Visual Symbol

Visual symbols include drawings, cartoons, strip drawing, diagrams, formulas, charts, graph, maps, globes.

Drawing may not be for real thing but better to have concrete visual aid than nothing. So, to avoid confusion, it is good that our drawing correctly represent the real thing. So, as a teacher we should know how to doing simple freehand sketching.

Another useful visual symbol that can bring novelty to our teaching is the cartoon. Cartoon tells its story metaphorically. The perfect cartoons needs no caption.

In teaching visual symbols it takes time in preparing and learning. Specially when you use the charts, graphs, maps and globes. The collection, preparation and use of these various visual symbols depends to a great extent on our own resourcefulness and creativity. They may be use in different ways and in different phases of the lesson depending in your purpose.

LB# 12 The Power of film, video and TV in Classroom

The appeal of visual media continues to make film video and television as educational tools with high potential impact. They are now more accessible & less cumbersome to use film video and to provide us with sounds and nights not long shots close ups, zoom shot magnification and split made possible by the TV camera. Excessive viewing works against the development of the Child's ability to visualize and to creative and imaginative skills that are needed in problem solving.

Through TV we can easily understand the shows. We can also relate our past experiences. The film, video, TV are powerful instructional tools when they are used appropriately and moderately they can teaching – learning process more concrete lively, colorful & interactive it contributes to or more lasting learning because of audio and motion effects/
So let us use the TV appropriately and moderately so that we can take advantage & mitigate its disadvantage.

LB# 11 Making the most of community Resources & Field Trips

Composition of lasting concepts and change in attitude are rooted on concrete and rich experiences field trips are opportunities for rich and memorable experiences which are fundamental to learning that last the real world connection is more work but the benefits of broadening teaching beyond textbook for outweigh the little bit of time it take from a teachers schedule the field trip can nurture curiosity, build a zest for new experience and a sense of wonder.
Field trip helps us learn by writing a sonic spot or to a historical place. Though this we can discover the different beautiful spots but before we conduct a field trip we should inform ask permission first to the parents of the students. Some examples of place that we can get a lesson are museums zoos, botanical gardens historical places, places of exhibits, sonic spots it can be also in performance like a play, a concert and dance presentation and it can be a public libraries and private for reward and learning.

LB#10 Demonstrations in Teaching

Demonstration is showing how a thing is done and emphasizing of the salient merits, utility and efficiency of a concept a method or a process or an attitude.
In the demonstration of a new product the speaker shows the product tells all the good things about the product to promote it in order to convince the audience that the product is worth buying. To ensure that the demonstration works we ought to plan and prepare very well before we conduct the demonstration.
A good demonstration is an audio visual presentation. It is not enough that the teacher talks a demonstration is a dramatic performance. The speaker will do their best to convey the audience.

LB# 9 Teaching with Dramatized Experience

Dramatic is something that is stirring or affecting or moving a dramatic entrance is something that catches and holds our attention and has an emotional impact. If our teaching is dramatic our students get attracted interested and affected. If they are affected and moved by what we taught we will most likely leave an impact on theme

Dramatized experiences can range from the formal plays, to less formal plays, pageants to less formal tableau, pantomime puppets and role playing this experience reminds me during my high school life we have a role playing and my role was a crazy woman. I really enjoyed playing my role and after we performed & was awarded us a best actress.
Through that dramatized experience we can learn and develop our talents.

LB# 8 Teaching with Continued Experiences

It is the second band of experiences in Dalos cone of Experience. These are the edited copies of reality and are used as substitutes for real things when it is not practice or not possible to bring or do real thing in the classroom. These contrived experiences are designed to stimulate to real – life situations. We used simulations and games to make our classes interactive & to develop the discussion making skills and knowledge construction skills of our students.

LB#7 Direct Purposeful Experiences and Beyond

As we know that direct purposeful experience are our concrete and firsthand experiences that make up the foundation of our learning. In this experiences we are using the 5 senses. It is purposeful because the experience are not purely mechanical. These direct experiences must not be the period or the end.We must be brought to a higher plane referred to here is the level of generalization and abstraction. Direct experience leads us to concept formation and abstraction. We should not end our lesson knowing only the concrete. We go beyond the concrete by watching the level of abstract concepts

LB# 6 Using & Evaluating Instructional Materials

It is one thing to select a good instructional material; it is another thing to use it well to ensure effective use of instructional material, Hyden Smith & Thomas Nagel, Advice us to abide by the acronym PPPF.

Prepare yourself. We should know our lesson objective and what you expect from the Dane after the session and why you have selected such particular instructional materials you have a plan on how you will proceed, what questions to ask, how you will evaluate learning & how you will tie loose end before the bells rings.

Prepare your students set class expectation and learning goals we should motivate the students so that these interest in listening will be arouse. Give them a guide questions to be able to answer during the discussion.
Present the materials under the best possible conditions before discussing we should prepare first the materials so that your presentation will be successful.

Follow up we should remember that we use instructional materials to achieve and objective not to kill time but we use the instructional material for the attainment of a lesson objective. To know if the objective was attained or not use should

LB#5 The cone of Experience

The cone of experience is a visual model a pictorial device and not degree that presents bands of experience arranged according to degree of difficulty. The experiences arranged in the cone of experience begins from the bottom to upward.

The first experience in the ban of cone is the direct purposeful experiences which serve as the foundation of our learning. We build up our reservoir of meaningful information and idea through the five senses, then the second is contrive experience in here, we can make use of representative models for practical reasons and so that we can make the real life accessible to the leavers understanding for example when you study the each so we have to use the picture dramatized experience in which by dramatization we can participate in a reconstructed experiences, even through the original event is far removed from us in time. The fourth one is demonstration, it is a visualized explanation of an important fact , idea or process by the use of photography, drawing films guided motions displays it shows how things are done another is study trips, these visits conducted to observe and event that is available with the classroom,  though study tripe we can also see the things that are not available on the classroom these are displays to be seen by spectators, then television no effectively that we are made to feel we are there still pictures, recordings, radio, there are usual and audio devices may be used by and individual or a group, is usual symbols, there are no longer realities reproduction of physical things for these are highly abstract representations and the last experience is verbal symbols, they are not like the object or ideas for which they stand.

LB#4 Systematic Approach to Teaching

The focus of systematic instructional planning is the student instruction begins with the definition of instructional objectives that consider the students needs interests and readiness. The effective use of learning resources is dependent on the expertise of the teacher, the motivation level or responsiveness and the involvement of the students in the learning process after instruction the teacher evaluates the outcome of instruction from the evaluation results, teacher comes to know if the instructional objective was attained, if the instructional attained teacher proceeds to the next lesson going through the same cycle once more and if the instructional objective was not attained, then teacher diagnoses learned in order to introduce a remedial measure for improved student performance and attainment of instructional objective.

LB#3 The Roles of Educational Technology in Learning

Technology can play a traditional role as delivery vehicles for instructional lesson or in a constructivist way as partners in the learning process to the learner learns from the technology and the technology serves as a learner.

From the constructivist point of view, educational technology serves as a learning tools those learners learn with. According to Jonassin there are many roles of technology in learning .Technology as tools to support knowledge construction, as information vehicles for exploring knowledge to support learning  by constructing, as context to support learning by doing, as a social medium to support learning by the conversing technology as intellectual partners to support learning by reflecting.

So with internet, technology has facilitated communication among people. From the constructivist perspective, educational technology is a meaningful leaving tool by sewing as a learning partner.

LB#2 Technology Boon or Bane?

Technology is a blessing for man through technology there is a lot that we can do which we could not do then gent like the cellphones, through that cellphones we can easily communicate our love ones. Sometimes technology is boon if we used properly, when not used properly the technology becomes a detriment to learning and development. Technology becomes a contributes much to the improvement of the teaching learning process and to the humanization of life.

Technology is a blessing from GOD for us. So we should use it properly.

Technology is made for man and not man for technology. It is made for the teachers and not the teacher for technology is meant to serve man in all aspects of life including instruction.

LB#1 Meaning of Education Technology
